VSAB History

The IOV Registered Valuers Foundation (IOV RVF) Board recognised the need to standardise valuation practices across Indian businesses and sectors. As a result, the Valuation Standards Board (VSB) was formed to formulate Valuation Standards. The VSB aimed to guide valuation practices to registered valuers, user organisations, academic institutions, research agencies, and other related sectors. The VSB (Valuation Standard Board) was constituted in 2018. The IOV Registered Valuers Foundation (IOV RVF) took a unique and pioneering step by formulating VSB since there was no such Board or body throughout India. The purpose of constituting this board was to enhance the growth and visibility of the valuation profession and align it with international standards

VSB has been recently rechristened and revamped as the Valuation Standards Advisory Board “VSAB” with well-defined and visionary objectives for the development of the Valuation Profession and ensures fast-track capacity building in enabling its Member Valuers to provide Standards compliant Valuations for their clients

VSAB includes four Assets Standards Board (ASB) for each Asset Class. Each Assets Standards Board establishes working groups of 3-5 experienced valuers in their respective asset class. Each Assets Standards Board is headed by distinguished and well-known Valuers with expertise in their asset class:
